So many people say to me, "I could never do what you do. I'm just not creative." Or, "I haven't got a creative bone in my body." And this has always baffled me. A lot of people seem to see creativity as this pie in the sky abstract thing to do with artists only. Like, if you can't use a paintbrush or draw at least a stick figure then you can't be creative.
I say bullshit to this.
Creativity is everywhere and in everything. It is simply the ability to see things differently. To acknowledge beauty in the everyday simplicity and think outside the box. Creativity is in all of us. If you have ever solved a problem, then you have used creativity. Brainstormed with a team at work. That's creativity. Looked up at the clouds and saw a rabbit. Creativity and Imagination go hand in hand.
It's a child's ability to use their imagination without fear or judgment that reminds us all just how important creativity is. It isn't out of your reach, so don't place it there.
